We are seeking a skilled and versatile Skilled Labourer/Maintenance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a variety of facilities and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. This role requires a proactive approach, strong technical knowledge, and excellent customer service skills to support the organisation’s infrastructure effectively.

Duties:

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery, electrical systems, and building facilities.
  • Repair or replace faulty components using welding, electrical, or mechanical skills.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Supervise maintenance activities, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Lead small teams or supervise contractors during specific projects or repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client requests promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or systems as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in maintenance, electrical work, welding, or mechanical repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of schematics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot electrical faults safely.
  • Mechanical knowledge for repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English to effectively liaise with team members and clients.
  • Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical or mechanical trades are advantageous.
