SEN Caseworker Please note that the Senior Caseworker role in Lewisham is equivalent in terms of responsibilities and duties to most other LAs' SEN Caseworker or SEN Coordinator role.
It does not entail any management or supervision of staff.
SEN Caseworker The is a role within the statutory SEN team and includes management of a set caseload of children/settings.
It is in Lewisham's SEN Team 1, which covers age 0 up to Year 7.
The role includes coordination of new EHC needs assessments, drafting and finalising of EHC Plan, consultations with settings, annual reviews and casework around these processes, overseeing of phase transfer processes, excellent communication with families and settings, management of complex situations such as placement breakdown, and preparation for/presentation to our multidisciplinary panels.
SEN Caseworker Therefore we are seeking a candidate with experience across the different areas of statutory casework.
The successful candidate will have the skills and experience required to pick up the role quickly, and while we will offer training, this will be around Lewisham specific systems and processes rather than the fundamental aspects of statutory casework.
