Purpose

To deliver an innovative, efficient and flexible service that is customer focused, compliant and sustains high levels of excellence and quality. Support NCHA's objectives of being a leader in providing an excellent maintenance service to NCHA tenants and external customers in line with NCHA's vision of More Homes, Great Services, Better Lives.

Main responsibilities

  • Carry out the design, installation, maintenance, servicing and repair work for the Association's housing stock and external customers in accordance with agreed targets and procedures.
  • Service, maintain, repair and fault finding on hot and cold systems.
  • Full bathroom refurb.
  • Co-ordinate the services of other trades and work with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure a seamless and excellent service to customers.
  • Manage stock/supplies to ensure works are not delayed.
  • Work in an efficient manner that delivers value for money, identify efficiencies, gaps in service delivery, and communicate them to line management.
  • Use information available to identify customer needs and ensure services are tailored to meet those needs.
  • Complete and return documentation within agreed timescales; updating and maintaining manual and computerised records.

Skills and experience

  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in plumbing.
  • Unvented hot water system.
  • Extensive, demonstrable post qualification experience in the relevant trade.
  • Demonstrable success in the delivery of a variable workload in a customer focused environment and working in a target driven service.
  • Demonstrable recent experience of undertaking multi-trade works e.g. joinery, plastering, tiling, painting.
  • Understanding and experience of working to current Health and Safety requirements.
  • Demonstrable excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use computerised data recording equipment.
