Responsibilitiesalsoincludeevaluatingriskassessmentsandmethodstatements, aswellasauthorisingthecompletionoftheseworks.

Principal Accountabilities Construction Officer 1.

Managethestatutorytestingforalllocalauthoritybuildingstoensureallnecessarysurveysareundertakenattherequiredintervals. 2.

Manageanyworkthatcomesfromthestatutorysurveyreports. 3.

Toundertakeasbestosmanagementinbuildingsandensurethatthe Authoritydoesnotbreachregulationsorexposeofficersorthepublictoriskforasbestos. 4.

Workwithcolleaguesintheauthoritytomanagecomplianceofbuildingswithcontractualtermsof Tenancyagreements, andreportbreachestoseniormanagementforfollow-upaction. 5.

Implementthe Divisionsresponsibilitiesfor Health&Safety. 6.

Adheringtocurrentasbestosregulations, legislation, specifications, British Standards, Codesofpracticeand CDMRegulations. 7.

Toactas Clerkof Worksforconstructionprojectsofrangingcomplexities. 8.

Liaisedirectlywithofficers, seniormanagement, buildingoccupants&thepublicinrelationtositesafetyissues, constructiondefectsandtoensurethatbuildingsaredesignedtobeconstructed, operated, maintainedanddemolishedsafely. 9.

Undertakemanagement&administrationofminorworksprojectsandtoassistin Building Surveyingduties. 10.

Liaisedirectlywith Contractors, subcontractors&HSEinrelationto Asbestosissues. 11.

Attendanceatmeetingswithclients, seniormanagement, externalagencies, consultantsandcontractors. 12.

Maintain Continual Professional Developmenttokeepawareofrevisedlegislation, newbuildingproductsetc. 13.

Motivate, encouragethedevelopmentofstaff. 14.

Assistinthepreparationof Departmental&Corporate Plansand Policies. 15.

Undertakeanyotherdutiesthatmayberequired. 16.

Tocomplywiththerelevantsectionsofthe Authority'spolicystatementon Health, Safetyand Welfareat Work. 17.
