KEY RESULT AREAS
- To ensure all works assigned to the post holder by the management team are completed in a professional manner, to the specified time and quality standard and in accordance with safe working procedures.
- To operate and be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles, plant and machinery are kept in good working order, and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and the Road Traffic Regulations.
- When instructed, to attend any training courses required. This may involve amended working hours on specified training days.
- To report any accidents and near misses to management in a prompt manner.
- Working outdoors in all weathers (Rain/Snow/Wind/Heat).
- To ensure all tools and equipment assigned are safely stored whilst in the post holder's control and ensure adequate cleansing of all equipment and vehicles assigned is maintained.
- To carry out a detailed daily inspection of allocated vehicle, and record all findings of such inspections on the statutory forms supplied.
- Assist with other Streetscene services as required, working alongside other staff within the different service areas to ensure all the activities contribute to meet Streetscene's objectives in line with the Corporate priorities.
Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
- Practical knowledge of City street map.
- Knowledge of vehicle operating licence requirements.
- Experience in working outdoors in all weathers.
- Experienced in working on own initiative and on the spot decision making including dynamic risk assessments.
- Previous experience operating plant and cleansing vehicles.
