Thurrock Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Strategic Property Surveyor to join our Corporate Property Team. This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Head of Property, and will play a key part in shaping the future of the council's property portfolio.
As a Strategic Property Surveyor, you will support the development and delivery of the Corporate Property Strategy, providing high-level professional, technical, and strategic advice across all council departments. You will influence decision-making at a senior level and contribute to the efficient, sustainable management of the council's diverse property assets.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert strategic property advice to senior leadership and service areas
- Support the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the Council's Corporate Property Strategy
- Lead on strategic asset reviews, property evaluations, and optimisation projects
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure property solutions meet service needs
- Oversee key workstreams relating to acquisitions, disposals, lease management, and asset planning
- Ensure property decisions align with legislation, best practice, and value-for-money principles
- Contribute to long-term planning, service transformation initiatives, and corporate projects
We are looking for a professional who is:
- A qualified Property Surveyor (MRICS preferred or equivalent experience)
- Skilled in strategic asset management and informed decision-making
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and presenting complex information clearly
