We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our New World Foods team (part of Kepak Group) in York. Reporting to the Site Manager, this role will be responsible for managing a small team of skilled engineers and manage the maintenance function of the site. This role will work cross functionally across the business and will support on a range of engineering and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the successful implementation of the Kepak Maintenance System, ensuring it aligns with best practice standards and supports seamless 24/7 coverage management.
  • Provide inspiring leadership and foster the growth of the Maintenance team in close collaboration with the Site Manager and HR.
  • Utilize strong recruitment and succession planning skills to build a resilient and skilled team.
  • Oversee the maintenance budget with keen attention to labor and material expenditures.
  • Champion the Kepak Maintenance guiding principle that 'equipment is always maintained to the manufacturer's delivered quality,' ensuring top-notch performance.
  • Work hand in hand with the Operations team to guarantee that factory layout and maintenance practices adhere to 5S standards, safeguarding machinery from damage.
  • Manage and ensure the quality and safety standards of external contractors while they are on site.
  • Collaborate with the Group Project Function on capital projects, making sure all Maintenance requirements are thoroughly addressed.
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement processes within the Maintenance function to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the entire engineering department, including the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of all equipment, ensuring smooth and reliable operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have Engineering qualification Degree level or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Proven Maintenance experience in Food or FMCG manufacturing with strong people management experience.
  • Adequate knowledge in Meat Industry and Consumer Foods Equipment and services.
  • Experience managing Maintenance or Engineer Budgets.
  • HACCP training and strong knowledge of food safety, compliance, and audit standards.
