Are you passionate about making a positive difference in education and supporting young people? GSL Education is looking for motivated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Experience and understanding of social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, certificate, or diploma.
  • At least 6 months of experience in an educational setting with references available.
  • The ability to engage with and build strong relationships with young people.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, MLD, and SEMH.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.

Level 2 Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, interactive lessons.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students.
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to students who need extra support.
  • Supervising students during class activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Working closely with teachers and parents to track and update student progress.
