Responsibilities include achieving operational excellence and managing the financial performance of your centre. Ensuring the highest standards of display, compliance and inventory control are maintained. Reporting to the Regional Manager. Learning all aspects of being a manager in the Garden Centre. Managing duties from watering plants, serving customers on tills to posting on Instagram. Managing cash handling and weekly banking. Booking in stock, talking to customers and looking after plants. Maintaining and monitoring Health & Safety in accordance with statutory, legal and company policies. Positively managing change, leading the team through each season with care and motivation to deliver the best. Identifying training needs and effectively coaching and training at all levels.

The Garden Centre is a high volume environment with a fast turnaround; the successful candidate should have proven managerial experience, be physically fit for a very hands-on role with occasional heavy lifting, and have a passion for exceptional retail standards, driving sales and great customer service.

Requirements:

  • Previous Garden Centre Management experience (centre manager or deputy manager level) and ability to motivate a team of managers and supervisors to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Plant knowledge, excellent customer service skills, communication and team management abilities, experience working in a similar role, experience managing a team, and horticulture experience are desirable.
