A growing engineering and manufacturing business in Malton is looking to appoint an Aftersales & Customer Service Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a newly created opportunity designed to strengthen the business's aftersales and customer support function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical or machinery background who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes, and building strong customer relationships within a fast-paced engineering environment. The role offers a salary of £40,000 to £45,000, working 40 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times, alongside genuine long-term progression.
Some of the Aftersales & Customer Service Manager responsibilities include:
- Acting as the key point of contact for aftersales support, technical queries, spare parts enquiries, workshop repairs, and warranty matters
- Providing first-line technical troubleshooting support to customers, dealers, and operators
- Managing incoming customer calls and emails, diagnosing issues, and coordinating solutions through to resolution
- Handling spare parts enquiries, quotations, ordering, and identifying opportunities to grow aftersales revenue
- Managing warranty claims from initial breakdown through to repair, replacement, and resolution
- Liaising with workshop teams, suppliers, service partners, and internal departments to ensure an efficient customer journey
- Coordinating repair activity, customer communication, and maintaining high service standards
- Conducting proactive aftersales follow-up calls to strengthen customer relationships and improve satisfaction
- Supporting improvements to service systems, processes, technical documentation, and product information
- Monitoring recurring issues and helping drive operational improvements across the aftersales function
- Supporting the longer-term development of the service department, including future coordination of engineers
