The post holder will be responsible for promoting, delivering, and facilitating various programmes directed by management as part of the School‑Aged Immunisation Service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion/education and public health school‑age immunisation programme.
  • Promote and facilitate collaborative working between team, schools, other educational institutions and families in the delivery of the immunisation programme.
  • Ensure the necessary requirements for storing and transporting immunisations, and the procedures for collecting and delivering vaccinations to the site.
  • Assist in identifying home‑schooled children and those in Pupil Referral Units.
  • Maintain databases to ensure records are kept up to date and documents are prepared for school visits.
  • Handle calls and emails from and to parents/carers booking children for vaccinations within community clinics.
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure for School Immunisation (SOPs).
  • First point of contact for all administrative tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cold chain, ordering, and arranging transport of vaccinations to site.
  • Actively and constructively contribute to team meetings.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Comply with Company policies & procedures.

About Us

Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school‑aged immunisations and outbreak responses for vaccine‑preventable diseases in the regions it serves. We also provide the infant BCG programme for infants under one in North London and a domiciliary Hepatitis B programme for babies born to Hepatitis B positive mothers in North London and the West Midlands. By the end of the 2023/24 academic year, Vaccination UK had vaccinated 1.1 million school‑aged children and delivered over 10,000 immunisation sessions in schools and community clinics across its service areas. We are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission and we are known as a progressive, agile provider, continually striving to achieve the safest, most efficient service possible.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level of education or equivalent with minimum of grade C in both English and Maths.
  • Working in a community setting (schools) and/or working with children & young people.
