Are you an experienced operations leader ready to take ownership of a fast-paced transport and warehouse operation, driving performance, compliance, and exceptional customer delivery? Can you lead teams, manage fleet compliance, and deliver strong financial and KPI results while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement? If so, come join us as our Transport Operations Manager!

As our Transport Operations Manager (6 Month FTC), you will be joining our fast pace operation for our Home Delivery Network in Portbury. You'll be leading a team of circa 17 colleagues across transport admin, drivers and warehouse operatives/supervisor. This is a full time, 6-month FTC based on site. Contracted hours of 40 per week, working any 5 days out of 7 within the following hours: 06:00 to 14:00, 08:00 to 16:00 and 10:00 to 18.00.

Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum (pro rata), and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts!

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Lead and oversee transport and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth home delivery and service performance
  • Manage and develop teams, providing clear structure and direction to transport admin, drivers, and warehouse colleagues
  • Drive health & safety and compliance, maintaining legal fleet standards and proactively managing risk
  • Deliver operational excellence and customer service, supporting driver performance and ensuring a high-quality end-to-end delivery experience
  • Own performance and reporting, ensuring accurate KPI tracking, incident investigation, and weekly financial accountability

  • Proven leadership capability, with the ability to manage teams in a fast-paced transport and warehouse environment
  • Strong focus on compliance and safety, including knowledge of health & safety and vehicle standards
  • Track record of improving operational performance, driving higher standards and accountability
  • Effective communicator with a resilient mindset, able to lead, influence, and perform under pressure
  • Desirable experience and qualifications, including fleet compliance knowledge and a Management CPC
