Priory Bristol Hospital. Full-time 37.5 hours a week. Minimum 6 months post-registration experience within Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Care Environment, evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field. This role is not suitable for newly qualified nurses or preceptorship nurses. You will be working in the Female Acute Ward. Bristol is an ideal place for treating people with complex disorders, including people who may not have responded to previous treatment. We can guarantee that our comprehensive treatment programmes are guided by current evidence-based research.
The location is not easily accessible via public transport, with limited direct routes and infrequent services in the surrounding area. As a result, commuting by car or other private transport is likely to be the most practical and reliable option for reaching the site.
What you'll be doing
The role involves delivering and coordinating patient centred nursing care within an agreed framework, including assessing, planning, and reviewing care in partnership with patients and their families. The post holder will monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and manage feedback or concerns effectively. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, they will prioritise and delegate duties, take charge of shifts when required, and contribute to maintaining a safe environment, while continuing their professional development in line with revalidation requirements.
You will join the team on the Female Acute Ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
What you'll bring to the role
- Essential: Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), along with Mental Health
- Desirable: A background in mental health, particularly within an acute ward setting, would be highly desirable for this role. Candidates with this experience will bring valuable insight into managing complex and dynamic clinical environments, along with the ability to respond effectively to patients with higher acuity needs. This experience supports strong clinical decision making, resilience, and a proactive approach to delivering safe, high quality care in fast paced settings.
