The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

We advise both employees and employers across the full range of employment law. That could be helping an employee with an unfair dismissal or unpaid wages claim or supporting an employer in defending whistleblowing or discrimination proceedings. Alongside litigation, we also provide practical HR advisory support, drafting contracts and policies, and guiding businesses through day to day employment law requirements.

As an Employment Paralegal, you'll be collating evidence from clients and then preparing advice on merits which will set out their chances of successfully pursuing or defending the claim. As you build experience, you'll support litigated employment matters under the supervision of a Senior Associate with a view to taking on your own litigated files (with appropriate oversight) and develop into a confident case handler, running matters end to end.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting clear, practical advice letters and client updates
  • Preparing case documents and bundles for tribunal
  • Liaising with opponents, tribunals and other external parties
  • Instructing counsel and supporting preparation for hearings
  • Negotiating and progressing matters towards resolution where appropriate
  • Supporting clients who may be vulnerable and sensitive matters

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain legal concepts in a clear, client friendly way
  • Confidence speaking with a range of external parties (clients, opponents and tribunals)
  • Good organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Resilience and professionalism
  • A genuine interest in Employment Law and a proactive approach to learning

Nice to have:

  • A law degree (or equivalent) and/or progress towards further legal qualifications
  • Any previous experience in a legal, customer service or advice giving environment
