Gordano School, part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership, is a large 11-18 comprehensive secondary school approximately eight miles outside Bristol. Our school includes a thriving Sixth Form of approximately 350 students and offers significant opportunities for sixth form teaching across over 30 courses.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic part time Midday Supervisor to support the effective and positive management of school lunchtimes in the dining hall, canteen or other areas of the school as required. This is a pivotal role, as the school relies on an organised, dedicated team of lunchtime supervisors to ensure the wellbeing of students.
Responsibilities
- Support the organisation and supervision of students during lunchtime.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment in the dining area.
- Interact with students, staff and parents as required and manage any incidents appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding procedures and report incidents in line with school policy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working in a team, ideally in a secondary school or young person centred environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds.
- Assertive, proactive, able to use initiative and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for adults in schools and willingness to undertake regular training and updates.
