Job Overview

The Cancer Coordinator supports a multidisciplinary Cancer Services team in coordinating day‑to‑day administration, data collection and evaluation of personalized care and support transformation activities, and organising the Cancer Board.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administration, data collection and evaluation for personalized care and support transformation programme activities.
  • Support team communications and engagement activities.
  • Organise all aspects of the Cancer Board.
  • Provide flexible administrative support to various Cancer Services teams as needed.
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Cancer, the Personalised Care and Support Lead, and other senior staff with administrative tasks.
  • Arrange meeting agendas, take minutes and distribute notes, including typing up group discussions and interviews.
  • Support evaluation and data collection for the Personalised Care and Support work streams.
  • Communicate verbally and via email with internal and partner organisations.
  • Input data onto Trust IT systems and manage relevant databases.
  • Arrange mail merges, invitations, literature and information packs.
  • Provide administrative support for audit activity when required.

Education and Training

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A‑C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ4 or NVQ3 plus additional training to diploma level (or equivalent).
  • Previous NHS experience preferred.

Experience and Skills

  • Two years’ experience in a senior administrative role in an office environment.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; capable of delivering clear instructions.
  • Experience in data entry, report compilation and meeting minute taking.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and keyboard proficiency.
  • Familiarity with communication systems (telephone, email) and NHS IT/clinical systems.
  • Knowledge of cancer pathways and NHS procedures desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and make decisions.
  • Attention to detail, well organised, methodical with high accuracy.
  • Capacity to prioritise workload and manage confidentiality.
  • Teamworking and motivation skills.
