We are currently supporting a well-respected local authority in the South West with the appointment of an experienced Interim Director of Legal. This is an initial 6‐month interim role, with the potential to extend while the authority completes its permanent recruitment process. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will provide senior leadership across a broad corporate services remit, including:
- Legal Services
- Democratic and Member services
- Elections, Registrars and Coroner services
- Information Governance
- Scrutiny, policy and committee support
- Executive Office, complaints and business support
This is a key leadership role for someone with strong local authority experience, sound political awareness and the ability to provide confident advice at senior officer and member level.
