Reeson Education are recruiting for a dedicated and empathetic Careers Advisor to join a specialist SEN school in West Drayton, supporting pupils within a PX (Pupil Referral/Pathways) provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with young people who require tailored guidance, structure, and encouragement as they prepare for life beyond education. The school in West Drayton supports students with a range of additional needs including SEMH, autism, and behavioural challenges. Many pupils within the PX provision benefit from consistent mentoring and practical career planning, and the successful Careers Advisor will play a vital role in helping them build confidence and realistic future pathways.
As a Careers Advisor, you will provide personalised careers guidance, employability support, and post-16 planning for students who may face barriers to education or employment. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external services to ensure every student has a clear and achievable progression route.
Key responsibilities- Provide 1:1 careers advice and guidance to PX students
- Support pupils with CV writing, interview preparation, and employability skills
- Deliver workshops on career pathways, further education, and apprenticeships
- Work with local colleges, training providers, and employers
- Support students with transition planning into post-16 or employment routes
- Build strong, supportive relationships with vulnerable learners
- Maintain accurate records and progression plans for students
- Previous experience as a Careers Advisor, mentor, or youth support worker
- Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or PX/PRU students desirable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Passion for supporting young people into positive destinations
