Harbury Surgery is looking for a qualified Dispenser and Administrative Assistant to join our small, friendly team. The role is for 18 hours per week, working Thursday and Friday from 8.30am to 6.30pm. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work confidently within both dispensary and administrative functions in a busy General Practice environment. We ask for flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.
Responsibilities
- Processing and dispensing prescriptions
- Managing monitored dosage packs
- Ordering medication
- Answering patient queries via telephone and dispensary hatch
- Supporting day-to-day dispensary operations
- Processing appointment requests
- Managing reception email accounts
- Scanning and coding medical correspondence
- Registering new patients
- Updating patient records
- Handling home visit requests
- Providing a high standard of customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
About us
Harbury Surgery is a proactive, progressive and well-established practice spread across 2 sites. Our team of 5 GPs, two practice Nurses and a wider clinical team that includes Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and Health and Well Being Practitioners serve almost 6,000 patients. We are also a training practice with a regular team of registrars, medical students and nursing students year round. We all work together to provide a high standard of care to our patients. Our non-clinical team is comprised of the Practice manager, Assistant practice manager, Dispensary manager, care navigator team/admin team, secretary team and dispensary.
Qualifications
- Must have an NVQ2 or equivalent accredited course in pharmacy services
Experience
- Strong communication skills with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals
- Able to use your own initiative with the ability to problem solve issues
- Confidentiality is essential
- The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy when carrying out tasks
- Experience of working in Primary Care/General Practice
- Experience of working with the public in a customer service role
- Experience of working with EMIS clinical system, Microsoft Office, Word & Excel
- Experience of dosette boxes would be beneficial
