Overview
As a cook working on our bank, you will be responsible for all kitchen duties at our care service. This includes ordering food, planning menus, and ensuring all health and safety regulations are maintained. You will plan and prepare all meals for our diverse customer group, ensuring meals are nutritional and suitable for a variety of dietary needs and cultures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of the kitchen as directed by the Support Coordinator and Service Manager.
- Prepare and serve three meals a day to our customers, plus tea and snacks.
- Order supplies, maintain adequate stocks of food, and keep records of expenditure.
- Ensure overall cleanliness of the kitchen, pantries, and related areas.
- Work with customers who have a variety of support needs and are all 55 and over.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering work.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of confidentiality.
- Ability to relate to vulnerable people with sensitivity.
- Flexibility to work at short notice and select your own shifts.
- Comfortable using technology for updating stock sheets, ordering food and supplies, keeping expenditure records, and completing online learning.
- Will need a standard DBS check, which will be paid for by the company.
