We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to join our team at B&M's "Vault" Distribution Centre in Speke, reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager. This role operates on a night shift basis from 10pm-6am across either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone currently in a Health & Safety administrative or similar role who's ready to take the next step in their H&S career within a fast paced retail logistics environment.
In this role, your day to day will include:
- Investigating and recording incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health.
- Supporting the wider H&S team with information and documentation gathering for authority or civil cases.
- Undertaking site inspections and risk assessments as directed.
- Ensuring equipment is installed and maintained safely and correctly, in line with relevant processes.
- Identifying hazards, observing working practices, and recommending corrective measures.
- Assisting with the creation and review of internal Health & Safety policies and strategies.
- Maintaining accurate data capture processes and compiling regular reports and statistics.
- Supporting the organisation of Health & Safety meetings and training sessions.
- Assisting the H&S Manager with communication and liaison with relevant authorities.
- Keeping up to date with current Health & Safety legislation and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Always acting as a visible and approachable H&S ambassador on site.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience in Health & Safety Admin/Advisor role (or similar)
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualified (Full training pathway can be provided)
- Competent IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Excel
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced, operational environment
- Excellent time management and communication skills - both written and verbal
- Experience within a retail environment is preferred but not essential
