We are looking for compassionate and motivated Support Workers to join our friendly team in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Our service focuses on empowering adults with learning disabilities and encouraging them to lead independent and fulfilling lives, by recognizing and nurturing their strengths, abilities and personal resources.
The ideal candidate will be warm, empathetic, and motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to demonstrate unconditional positive regard towards the people we support.
Support Worker Duties- Provide respectful person‑centered care and support, tailored to each individual’s specific needs
- Promote an active and independent lifestyle
- Encourage the people we support to engage in community and maximize social opportunities
- Develop warm and trusting relationships with the people we support, and work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure coordinated and consistent service
We welcome both experienced applicants and those new to the care sector, offering opportunities for personal and career growth. This is a part‑time role (16 or 20 hours per week). Hours are to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service.
Please note: applicants with a valid and clean driving licence preferred for this role. Full training is provided, as is the opportunity to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
