Moy Vets, Norcross Lane, Thornton Cleveleys, North West is seeking a confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time basis. Moy Vets combines a friendly, multicultural atmosphere with cutting-edge facilities and advanced monitoring technology, all designed to help you deliver the best care possible.

Join a thriving nursing team of 15 RVNs and 5 ACAs, many holding certificates or working towards advanced qualifications. You'll collaborate closely with a veterinary team of 8 and a supportive crew of 16. We truly value nursing expertise and offer established nurse clinics, opportunities for further development, nurse-led dental staging, laser therapy, and exciting plans to expand nurse-led Schedule 3 operations days, perfect for those hungry to advance their skills.

Our in-house out-of-hours service and dedicated inpatient night nurse team mean you're part of a practice that handles a wide range of emergency cases with confidence. How You'll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Nursing Manager, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, overseeing all nursing aspects of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient and client care. You’ll be responsible for setting and maintaining nursing standards, leading clinical governance and quality improvement activity, and developing a capable, confident nursing team. Working closely with the wider practice leadership team, you’ll play a key role in shaping culture, performance, and ways of working.

This is a full-time role working 39 hours per week across 4 or 5 days, with shifts scheduled between 8:00 am and 7:30 pm. Occasional weekend shift cover may be required to support the wider team. You’ll be working closely with our Director of Practice who takes a coaching approach, giving you space to think, ask questions, build confidence, and find your own way of leading.

In addition to the above, you will be a supportive Manager, who inspires those around them and supports a culture aligned with IVC Evidensia values and purpose. Behaviours demonstrated include:

You are an experienced and confident Registered Veterinary Nurse with strong leadership capability and a passion for clinical excellence. You’ll bring:

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced medical and surgical nursing skills
  • Proven experience of leading, mentoring, and developing nursing teams
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and professional standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
