Responsible to: Deputy Manager, Nursery Manager & Directors.

Position: Nursery Nurse qualified to Level 3 in Early Years. Working full time (4 days per week).

About us: We are an Ofsted GOOD Children's Day Nursery based in Sale, M33. Established in 1991, we pride ourselves on long serving staff and a strong, hardworking, friendly team. Accessible by foot and public transport.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in childcare or early years education - Diploma in Playgroup practice, NNEB, NVQIII or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of childcare experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of EYFS and child development.
  • Satisfactory work attendance record.
  • Experience working in a team and exercising leadership.
  • Ability to plan workloads and set priorities.
  • Experience working in a multi cultural environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly review, develop and monitor the curriculum and activities to maintain high childcare standards.
  • Ensure the safety and well being of children, keeping appropriate records and evidence.
  • Adhere to all policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver nurturing and recreational activities.
  • Assess, record, report on children's development and support other staff.
  • Promote positive relationships between adults and children.
  • Inform parents/carers of children's progress; attend parent/staff meetings.
  • Monitor children for language delays or special needs and discuss concerns with the nominated SENCO.
  • Comply with OFSTED requirements and act appropriately in emergencies.
  • Share responsibility for the unit's smooth running and provide a warm, caring environment.
  • Encourage active participation of all children.
  • Carry out any other occasional duties as requested by management.
