The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

This training opportunity will develop the skills and knowledge that a time-served tradesperson, with some drawing knowledge needs to become an estimator while supporting the team, our customers and suppliers. You’ll provide estimates for all types of fabrication based on labour hours, materials and subcontractor values using specifications and drawings. This role is 100% site-based, working closely with both internal teams and our customers who have on-site presence with us managing complex, fast-paced projects.

So what will you do?

  • Produce cost estimates evaluating customer's specification and drawings for subcontract content.
  • Analysis of competitive quotations for selection of sub-contractors at bid stage.
  • When appropriate make ship and/or customer visits to clarify requirements and survey proposed work scopes.
  • Compile material take-off and use our estimating system and Excel to produce estimates and tender documentation.
  • Assist project managers and the procurement team evaluating and awarding sub contracts.
  • Evaluate suppliers to ensure compliance.

  • Knowledge of ship yards and marine industry the fabrication and manufacturing industry.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • A time-served tradesperson, with some drawing knowledge, looking for a change in career.
  • Data analysis skills and the ability to work on Microsoft Office Packages and management reports.
