About the Internship

Launched in 2015, the Internship Scheme by NITI Aayog aims to engage students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or research programmes from recognized institutions in India or abroad. The internship duration ranges from a minimum of six weeks to a maximum of six months.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Undergraduate students must have completed or appeared for their 2nd year/4th semester exams and secured at least 85% in their 12th grade.
  • Postgraduate students or research/Ph.D. scholars should have completed or appeared for their first-year/second-semester exams and must have secured a minimum of 70% in their undergraduate programme.
  • Recent graduates or postgraduates awaiting admission to higher studies may also apply, provided they have achieved at least 70% overall in all semesters and the time between their final results and the internship start date does not exceed six months.

Application Process

Interested candidates must apply online through the NITI Aayog website by May 10, 2025. Applications can be submitted no earlier than six months and no later than two months before the desired internship period. Applicants must clearly mention their area of interest.

Important Notes

  • Only one application per financial year is allowed.
  • Selected candidates must present original academic records and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution at the time of joining (NOC format available in Annexure 'C' of the official guidelines).
