What Does It Involve?
- Volunteer alongside the Therapeutic services team as they deliver a programme of support to children, young people and their families
- Support families and children during their stay at Daisy Lodge
- Organise daily play activities for children and young people
- Deliver group work programmes to children and young people to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience
- Create and maintain a child centred, caring and supportive environment
What Skills or Experience Do You Need? Cancer Fund for Children is looking for dynamic, creative and energetic volunteers, who have a qualification or are working towards a qualification in an area supporting children and young people aged 0-24 years old. E.g. youth workers, social workers, nursing staff, play specialists, early years.
What Can I Expect from the Role?
- You will receive on-going support and training that will be relevant to the role
- The Therapeutic Services Specialist will be on hand to guide you in the delivery of Therapeutic Services
- You will gain experience of working directly with children and families associated with Cancer Fund for Children
- An opportunity to meet new people and develop new skills
