Join Thornford Park as a Maintenance Assistant where you will help create a well‑presented and safe environment for vulnerable individuals. You will be responsible for ensuring facilities are fit for purpose, conducting regular audits for repairs, liaising with contractors, and performing maintenance‑related tasks across the site. Job responsibilities
- Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
- Utilising good DIY skills to maintain safety for service users and staff.
- Assisting in regular checks and maintenance, and in the repair and upkeep of all buildings.
- Liaising with a manager to report all faults and defects.
- Participating in a 1‑week on‑call rota for emergency maintenance.
- Coordinating and supporting contractors while on site, completing all paperwork and tool checks.

Where you will be working
Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, RG19 8ET. The site is a 130‑bed independent hospital supporting medium and low secure forensic mental health services, including a dedicated PICU Mental Health Service.
