Ford and Slater is one of the UK's largest DAF Truck dealerships with 16 locations across the North East, employing over 900 staff while remaining a family‑run business. We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Service Advisor at our Birtley depot.

A salary of up to £30,000 (depending on your Service Advisor experience).

You will have previous experience working within the commercial vehicle, motor trade or an associated sector as a Technical Service Advisor or in a similar role. Or have a passion for trucks and know your truck/trailer parts. Knowledge of vehicle repair scheduling preferred but not essential. A customer‑focused individual with excellent communication skills. The ability to multitask and work well under pressure. PC‑literate (DMS system experience would be an advantage). Full UK driving licence.

The Technical Service Advisor role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Managing service bookings on a day‑to‑day basis, ensuring efficient workshop loading.
  • Complete service estimates accurately, clearly, and quickly.
  • Keep customers up to date with costs, progress and authorisations.
  • Prepare job cards & raise invoices.

Working: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 6:30pm. Plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings.
