Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, timely, and clear technical advice to internal teams, residents, businesses, and stakeholders.
- Conduct inspections, site visits, audits, and surveys to monitor environmental and public health standards.
- Investigate complaints and service requests, gather evidence, prepare reports, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Process applications, licences, and regulatory submissions in accordance with legislation and council policies.
- Maintain accurate records, case files, and databases, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection requirements.
- Support enforcement activities, including evidence handling and preparation for legal proceedings when required.
Qualifications
- Experience in a regulatory, environmental health, scientific, or compliance based role.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and enforcement processes.
- Experience managing casework, inspections, investigations, or administrative processes.
- Strong data management and record keeping skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse information and make evidence based decisions.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Environmental Health, Science, or a related field. OR relevant professional experience in a related technical or regulatory field with a suitable qualification.
