Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a residential children’s home in line with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
- Create and maintain a safe, stable, and child-centred environment focused on positive outcomes.
- Inspire, support, and develop a compassionate and resilient staff team through effective leadership and mentoring.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Drive high standards of care, behaviour support, and therapeutic practice across the service.
- Ensure robust care planning, risk management, and placement matching processes are consistently maintained.
- Build positive relationships with families, local authorities, external professionals, and stakeholders.
- Monitor home performance, compliance, and quality assurance to achieve and maintain strong Ofsted outcomes.
- Manage budgets, staffing levels, rotas, and resources effectively.
- Promote a culture of empathy, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the home.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential setting.
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
- Proven ability to lead teams and support children with emotional and behavioural needs.
