Our Market Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving commercial growth and market expansion for Hitachi Energy. Reporting to the Country Managing Director UK and Ireland, this role will develop and execute the implementation of the Go-To-Market strategy for growing industries and clients within the renewable, nuclear, utilities and datacentre sector. It is a high-ownership, high-impact role at the intersection of strategy, general management, and market development, where you will define the strategic vision for these categories and build the communities around them.
How you'll make an impact:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to our leadership teams by structuring, analyzing, and communicating complex business challenges and delivering actionable plans and insights that directly influence executive‑level decision making on the prioritization of key growth opportunities.
- Identify and implement industry best practices, key operational processes, industry policies and certifications.
- Develop optimal revenue models, sales, and distribution channels.
- Build business cases and evaluate market expansion opportunities across partnerships, pricing, channels, and new market entry strategies.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Sales to execute regional growth initiatives.
- Prioritise and track investments across new product development initiatives.
- Develop and implement new products, processes, standards, or operational plans.
- In some cases, you may be responsible for project‑managing/integrating new business ideas and/or acquisitions.
Your background:
- Master's degree coupled with proven market development experience, preferably in a related industry.
- Highly data‑driven; comfortable using metrics to spot market opportunities.
- Ability to translate emerging business issues and developments into commercial opportunities.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complex cross‑functional environments while influencing stakeholders across global and regional teams.
- Commercial and strategic mindset.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- A good level of experience in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems.
