As a manufacturing apprentice, you will be learning all aspects of the papermaking process to become a fully competent manufacturing operative at the end of the 3-year apprenticeship.
This manufacturing apprentice role will enable you to learn the skills required to assist the production department, resources, and systems to ensure the company maintains a high-quality product, always in line with company policies, regulatory standards, and statutory guidelines/deadlines.
At the end of the 3-year apprenticeship with the training provided and qualifications achieved, we expect that you will become fully competent in being a manufacturing operative and be able to complete the following duties:
- Set up different machines.
- Run the machine to create a pulp that will be used to produce paper.
- Complete quality and productivity checks.
- Undertake routine maintenance while maintaining safety and reliability standards and working as part of a team.
The apprenticeship would initially be a days based role, working Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm. At some point during your apprenticeship, you may be expected to work on shifts (6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am).
