The Psychology Service for the Nottinghamshire Adult Mental Health Acute Care Unit provides high quality psychological assessment, advice and intervention within local adult acute mental health wards.
Responsibilities
- Work in inpatient services, supporting wards with a psychological approach.
- Participate in individual assessment and formulation of patients' needs across a wide range of clinical presentations.
- Deliver brief psychologically informed group interventions and help shape, plan, oversee and deliver group programmes.
- Provide supervision and leadership to assistant psychologists.
- Work directly with patients on the male PICU and advise the multidisciplinary team at ward review meetings.

Qualifications
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Post-Doctoral training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees.

- Worked as an applied psychologist within a designated mental health service covering a wide variety of client groups and care settings.
- Held full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provided teaching, training, clinical supervision and acted as field supervisor for doctoral theses.
- Engaged in research, development, quality and service improvement, and evaluation.
- Worked jointly with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies.
- Worked with individuals with neurodevelopmental difficulties.

- Completed Doctoral Level training as a practitioner Psychologist (DClinPsych, DCounsPsych, DForenPsy).
- Trained in clinical supervision and supervision of doctoral trainees.
