An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part time Band 6 to join our team. Cookson Attenborough is a 28 bedded ward which undertakes elective, primarily, orthopaedic as well as surgical day cases.
Main duties of the job
- The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be able to fully interact with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills within the clinical environment to ensure effective running of the shift 24 hours per day.
- Support the Ward Matron and act in her absence.
- Support and help to develop the team and act as mentor for new staff, junior staff and student nurses.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Qualified RGN/RN/RSCN with active NMC Registration
- Educated to degree level supplemented by diploma level specialist training or relevant equivalent training and experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Diploma Professional practice or working towards this Qualification
- NVQ Assessor Award (D32/33/AI)
Experience
- Substantial post registration experience at band 5
- Experience of working autonomously and managing a caseload
- Computer and keyboard skills
- Experience of teaching and presentation skills
Skills
- Aware of current professional and research and practice issues
- Previous experience of working within the NHS

Pay
£39,959 to £48,117 a year pro rata
