Overview
Supported Living Service (Female Only)
This role is restricted to female applicants only. In accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) allows this support worker position to be filled solely by female applicants to uphold the dignity, privacy and personal safety of our female service users, in line with Care Quality Commission fundamental standards.
Responsibilities
- Work with person centred support plans and risk assessments to provide direct personal care.
- Use safer people handling equipment where assessed.
- Support service users in managing challenging behaviour while maintaining and promoting their independence.
- Collaborate with a multi agency approach to positive behaviour management, ensuring the safest, most ethical and appropriate support for those with complex needs.
- Participate in shift patterns that may include early, late, sleep in, night, weekend and bank holiday duties.
- Travel across the borough to deliver care at various properties; a driver's licence is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
- Employees must follow council policies and procedures and be willing to undertake all essential training to meet Care Quality Commission standards.
Working Hours and Pay
- 25 hour posts available.
- Hourly rate £13.68 to £13.90, plus increments for weekend work and night shift payments.
- Sleep in duties are paid at £41.78 per night.
