Salary: £45,000+ DOE
Hours: 43.75 hours per week - 07:45 - 17:00 - Monday to Friday
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a busy operation where you will play a key role in ensuring maximum uptime of plant and machinery through proactive and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve breakdown issues efficiently
- Respond rapidly to minimise equipment downtime
- Maintain all machinery to a high operational standard in line with company procedures
- Comply with all machine operating systems and safety protocols
- Keep accurate records of machinery on site
- Complete and maintain documentation via CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- Provide written and verbal reports to line management
- Attend progress meetings as required
- Carry out additional duties as reasonably requested
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role
- Ability to strip down and rebuild hydraulic and mechanical components on heavy machinery
- Strong understanding of technical drawings
- Competent in lifting and slinging operations
- Working knowledge of diesel engine maintenance
- ONC qualification (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant engineering discipline
- IT literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Desirable Skills
- HNC qualification in a relevant engineering field
- Advanced hydraulic fault diagnosis at component level
- Experience operating basic machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, etc.)
- Working knowledge of 3-phase electrics
- Experience working within a clean room environment
- Background in metal recycling or similar heavy industrial sectors
