We are partnering with a large, inclusive and high-achieving secondary school in Southall that is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team. Key Responsibilities for a Secondary Teaching Assistant
- Provide classroom, 1:1 and small group support across a range of subjects.
- Support students in understanding tasks and staying engaged during lessons.
- Assist pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to overcome barriers to learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
- Support teachers with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.
- Adapt to working across different subject areas throughout the school day.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting.
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good general knowledge of core subjects including English, Maths and Science.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- The ability to commute to Southall or live locally.
Work schedule
- Monday to Friday
Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
