This is a full‑time academic lecturing role requiring the successful candidate to complete 37 hours of work each week (25 contact teaching hours, 12 hours remission) and to be paid on the Academic Teaching pay scale between T1 £31,633 and T11 £45,341 depending on qualifications and teaching experience.

The Lecturer in Games Development at Slough & Langley College is primarily responsible for delivering an outstanding student experience through high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment. Core duties include:

  • Participating in the interviewing, enrollment, and induction of students
  • Preparing comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment structures
  • Providing continuous feedback, setting and monitoring personal targets
  • Delivering necessary academic support or referrals
  • Preparing students for assessments and examinations
  • Maintaining accurate student records
  • Contributing to curriculum development
  • Participating in promotional activities such as parents' evenings, recruitment drives, conferences, and trade events

In addition to classroom instruction, the post holder acts as a Tutor, delivering academic and pastoral support to students on an individual and group basis while maintaining collaborative links with parents and employers. The role further involves:

  • Contributing to programme leadership
  • Assisting with quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participating in departmental self‑assessments

All responsibilities mandate safeguarding and promoting student welfare, maintaining campus morale and discipline, and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant subject
  • Level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Willingness to work toward a Level 5 teaching qualification if you do not already possess one

It would be beneficial to have experience working with the UAL Creative Media curriculum or an Assessors or Verifiers award.
