- Job responsibilities
- Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing food and performing basic cooking tasks.
- Work in the kitchen areas: vegetables, fish, meat, sauces, on a six month rotation programme.
- Support all chefs to manage and deliver catering services throughout the home, ensuring resident choice, dignity, confidentiality, and safety.
- Participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss catering functions and address residents' special needs or dietary requirements (cultural and religious preferences).
- Prepare nutritional food and beverages to a high standard and in accordance with agreed mealtimes.
- Prepare special diet meals as directed by the chefs.
Qualifications and experience
- Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ or equivalent.
- Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
- Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high quality culinary services for residents.
- Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
