Job Role & Key Responsibilities

A senior leadership role responsible for driving engineering performance across a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing site. You will lead the engineering function, shape long-term strategy, and ensure reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across operations.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-shift engineering team
  • Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture
  • Define and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to business goals
  • Drive improvements in OEE, asset reliability, and downtime reduction
  • Oversee planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance systems
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
  • Own and deliver CAPEX projects, including installation and commissioning
  • Manage engineering budgets, costs, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and senior leadership teams

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within FMCG or manufacturing
  • Strong track record managing multi-shift engineering teams
  • Experience delivering engineering strategy and site-wide improvements
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean principles, and CI tools
  • Experience managing CAPEX projects and budgets
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above - electrical or mechanical)
  • Solid understanding of health & safety legislation

Desirable Skills:

  • IOSH or equivalent health & safety certification
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production environments
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
