Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take full ownership of larger, more complex infrastructure projects? At Severn Trent, we're investing over £6 billion into our capital programme to deliver critical infrastructure that supports millions of customers and communities. To deliver this, we're growing our Capital Commercial team - we're looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to join us in our Coventry, Derby and Shrewsbury offices.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll act as the lead commercial representative across a portfolio of projects, taking full accountability for commercial performance from inception through to final account. You'll typically manage larger or more complex projects, operating independently without day to day Senior Commercial Manager support, and leading commercial decision making across your portfolio.
- Lead the end to end commercial management of capital projects and frameworks
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact for project teams and supply chain partners
- Draft, negotiate, and manage NEC4 contracts (Options A, C and E)
- Lead negotiations on contracts, compensation events, and final accounts
- Take ownership of commercial risk management and project outcomes
- Challenge costs, identify efficiencies, and drive value for money
- Make independent commercial decisions aligned to project objectives
- Manage complex commercial issues and resolve disputes
- Provide guidance and mentoring to Quantity Surveyors and early career professionals
We're looking for experienced professionals who are confident operating independently and leading commercial outcomes.
Experience- Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
- Strong track record of delivering larger or more complex projects
- Significant experience managing NEC contracts and commercial risk
- Experience leading negotiations and managing contracts end to end
- Strong commercial judgement and decision making capability
- Ability to lead, influence and challenge at all levels
- Confidence managing ambiguity and complex project environments
- Ability to operate independently and take accountability
- Passion for delivering value and continuous improvement
- RICS (or working towards) desirable
