We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Senior Moving and Handling Advisor to join our established small, dynamic team. You will have experience of working in a clinical environment in an acute or community setting, and have substantial experience of people handling. You may come from a Nursing, Allied Health Professional or similar background, with a sincere interest in supporting people to work safely and to promote excellent people handling practice across the Trust.
You will have experience of delivering advice and training to adults at work, and we will support you in your ongoing professional development with training, risk assessment and development of safer systems of work, audit and inspection across Trust workplaces, and supporting clinical colleagues with complex handling matters.
Based at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and with cross site working to all Trust sites across Shropshire, the post holder will contribute to the team's work by delivering training, undertaking audits and inspections, supporting wards and clinical departments with complex handling problems and risk assessments or safe systems of work.
Responsibilities- Deliver training and advice on people handling to adults and staff.
- Carry out risk assessments and develop safer systems of work across Trust sites.
- Conduct audits and inspections of handling practices.
- Provide support to wards, clinical departments and colleagues on complex handling matters.
- Generate and review audit findings to improve safety outcomes.
- Experience in a clinical environment (acute or community).
- Substantial background in people handling and safety.
- Proven ability to deliver training or education to adults.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures within healthcare settings.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
