We are now looking to employ an additional Production Operative to support our Shepshed based team. The Production Technician will, as part of the Production team, provide high quality goods to meet Campbell Scientific's customers' needs. This will be achieved by focusing on set customer delivery timescales, of exceptional quality and on time.
It is expected that within this role, the Production Technician will undertake the following duties:
- Carry out a variety of production tasks to a high standard such as hand soldering; general electronic and mechanical assembly work (including fine dexterity assembly; wire harnessing; printed circuit board assembly; potting and conformal coating).
- Liaise with the Research and Development team and develop Work Instructions and assembly techniques as new products are introduced into the Production team.
- Ensure issued components are correct to Works Orders and notify stores of any errors.
- Ensure all production activity is recorded and logged on Campbell Scientific's database.
- Working in a busy team, identify and juggle differing priorities in order to meet customer demand.
- Work within company procedures for Quality and Materials Control, maintaining high levels of quality, cleanliness and organisation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing preventative and corrective measures.
- Adopt a flexible approach in order to assist in other areas of Campbell Scientific's busy Production team when required.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- To have a good understanding of computers using utilities such as Hyperterminal.
- Have the ability to read and understand Work Instructions and associated drawings.
- Knowledge of IS9001:2015 and ISO Management systems.
- The ability to work alone and use initiative whilst also able to work well within a team with shared responsibilities and targets.
- Strong organisational skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- Electronic and mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Electronics enthusiast with the ability to identify and work through technical problems.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office software.
This is a full-time job. Extra hours may occasionally be required. This job operates in a clerical office setting in Shepshed, UK.
