Our Volunteer Admissions Assistants help us to run the museum on a day‑to‑day basis, give a warm welcome to our visitors and are ambassadors for the museum. This role is dynamic and varied. You’ll be multitasking throughout the day, with a mix of responsibilities including customer service, admission ticket sales, promoting Gift Aid donations, shop duties, and providing information about the Museum. If you enjoy a fast‑paced environment and love engaging with people, this is the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

  • Customer service and face‑to‑face and telephone communication with visitors.
  • Admission ticket sales and shop duties.
  • Promote Gift Aid donations and Aeroshop product upsell/cross‑sell.
  • Provide information about the Museum and its collections.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills, confident computer use (training will be given).
  • Sales skills are beneficial to up‑/cross‑sell Aeroshop products and to encourage Gift Aid donations.

Schedule

  • Whole or part days (AM 10:30‑13:30 or PM 13:30‑17:00).
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

Training and support

Full training will be given alongside ongoing support from staff and other volunteers as needed.
