The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 £ per year.
The closing date is 31 May 2026. The appointment is to commence from 5 August 2026 for a fixed term period of 12 months, potentially extendable for a second year. The post does not award a National Training Number. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has either completed their specialist training or who has a CCT or equivalent in General Surgery within 18 months of the date of interview to undergo advanced training in pelvic floor surgery. This Fellowship programme is approved under the RCS England Senior Clinical Fellowship Scheme and accredited to ACPGBI and RCS England as the Sheffield Post-CCT Advanced Pelvic Floor Surgery Fellowship.
Main duties of the job:
The aim of this post is to provide further clinical experience and training to an individual who has a sub-speciality interest in pelvic floor surgery and to allow for exposure to clinical skills in this subspecialty.
Person Specification
- Qualifications:
- Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise
- Basic Medical Degree e.g. MBBS
- MRCS (or equivalent)
- FRCS at the point of commencement in post
- Clinical experience:
- General Professional Training in general surgery with experience in the colorectal subspecialty
- Completed specialist training or have a CCT or equivalent in General Surgery within 18 months of interview
- NHS Experience excluding clinical attachment
- Experience in colorectal surgery at StR level
- Research:
- Basic Understanding of research methods and statistics
- Previous experience in research - preparing research papers for publication & presentation
- Continuous Professional Development:
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
- Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio
- Personal attributes:
- Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values
- Demonstrates skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking the English language that enables effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues as set out in the GMC good medical practice (2013)
