The Ophthalmology department has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and reliable individual to join their growing service. This position is pivotal in providing telephonic and administrative support to our service. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of patient contact, using excellent communication and telephone skills to book appointments and deal with general enquiries for the service as well as providing data entry and general administrative support to maintain a quality experience for service users.
- Deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries and appointment bookings in a professional manner in accordance with local and national procedures.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure full utilisation of all available outpatient appointments.
- Provide administrative support to clinical staff to ensure targeted clinics run smoothly and efficiently, including the contacting of patients and booking of appointments.
- Utilise the Connect and MediSIGHT software packages to check the patients' care pathway.
- Arrange clinic cancellations and reductions, in line with Trust policy and to meet local and national targets.
- Manage review lists reporting potential overdue patients' appointments to the Service Coordinator.
