We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Setter/ Operator - Welder Fabricator. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.
Shift Pattern: 39 hours each week, 07:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, and 07:30 - 12:30 on a Friday, with designated breaks.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manual TIG welding and fabrication of components to company and customer specification.
- Understanding of and safe use of air tools and hand tools.
- Read and understand welding symbols as detailed on WPS and Engineering Drawings.
- Ability to correctly set components to casting to suit customer specifications.
- Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Complete operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
General responsibilities:
- Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and report any concerns to supervision.
- Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
- Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
- Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans etc.
- Use of all measuring equipment as necessary to check conformance to requirements.
- Carry out in process inspection in accordance with requirements to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
- Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
- Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
- Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
- Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
- Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.
- Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
- Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
- Comply with all company procedures and policies.
Person Specification:
- 1/2 years' experience in the Aerospace Industry/ Engineering/ Manufacturing/ a similar role is desirable.
- Must become familiar with quality & manufacturing standards and maintain and achieve specified targets and objectives in line with business requirements.
- Required to produce acceptable first offs - "right first time".
- Train and coach fellow colleagues to suit the business requirements.
- Positive, 'can do' attitude.
- Takes full ownership of their area of responsibility.
