Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will play a leading role in managing the construction of Nscale’s data centre facilities, with a particular focus on fit‑out/partnered projects. Reporting to the Project Director, this role may be sat across individual projects or multiple concurrently depending on scale and scope of project pipeline, and will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered successfully by coordinating design, engineering, and construction activities through each stage of project execution.

You will manage scope, schedule, progress, quality, and risk, ensuring consistency with Nscale’s standards, governance, and delivery objectives. You will coordinate with internal team members and external partners to deliver on time, safely, and to specification. You will maintain visibility of project budgets, forecasts, and reporting to ensure informed and proactive decision‑making. Collaboration across internal teams - including Engineering, EH&S, Finance, and Operations - will be key to delivering world class, sustainable infrastructure that supports Nscale’s AI mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data centre project delivery from design through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and quality, ensuring alignment with design intent and business objectives.
  • Coordinate and lead discipline Project Management (MEP, CSA) when required and ensure all packages of work integrate smoothly.
  • Maintain oversight of project budgets and schedules in coordination with the Commercial Manager, reporting progress and highlighting key risks.
  • Work closely with Design for design reviews, approvals, and documentation control.
  • Collaborate with general contractors to assess and manage local construction capabilities, resource planning, and performance.
  • Drive adherence to program milestones, identifying potential delays and developing recovery plans.
  • Build and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance through active engagement and auditing.
  • Chair regular status meetings, issue reports, and maintain clear communication between stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements, advising on design implications or alternative solutions.
  • Lead risk identification and resolution, ensuring issues are captured, tracked, and addressed early.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments (Engineering, EH&S, Finance, Operations) to ensure seamless project delivery and transition to operations.

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Over 8 years of experience managing large scale, mission critical construction projects, including expertise in data centre developments and fit‑out works.
  • Ideally you will have delivered projects integrating TCS loop liquid cooling networks.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑discipline delivery teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead effectively in fast paced environments.
  • Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
  • Understanding of commercial and contractual principles sufficient to ensure alignment with cost and schedule targets.
