Making the complex simple. We are looking for an experienced senior candidate to help drive our corporate tax services, as well as support and help grow our business more widely. Your focus would be on corporate tax matters, with experience in advising across all aspects of corporate tax, including reorganisations and reconstructions, R&D, share schemes and M&A. Applications will be considered from those already working at a senior level in accountancy or tax practices, as well as those in commercial tax teams of law firms looking for a change of direction.
Role and responsibilities
- Technical
- Identify client problems and propose appropriate solutions.
- Prepare technically and grammatically accurate proposals and reports on clients' tax matters.
- Review reports prepared by more junior members of the team for accuracy.
- Provide high-quality deliverables at all times, strengthening the ETC brand.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the legislative frameworks and HMRC guidance governing the UK tax system.
- Determine appropriate commercial terms for jobs.
- Ensure jobs are delivered within budget and meet annual billing targets.
- Review and monitor own productivity and that of direct reports.
- Marketing
- Maintain a network of contacts to support clients and refer work to the firm.
- Develop ETC business through relevant marketing and business development activities.
- Contribute to firm-wide marketing strategy.
- Deliver or support workshops and seminars.
- Handle website and phone enquiries and leads.
- Spot opportunities to upsell and/or cross-sell.
- Contribute to writing articles and know-how for internal and external use.
- Promote company services on social media and at networking events.
- Management
- Make positive suggestions to improve business efficiency.
- Deal with queries from clients and third parties in a timely manner.
- Act as day-to-day point of contact for specific clients and maintain those relationships.
